All of our reins are made using the finest Harness Leathers from Herman Oak Leather Tannery and Wickett-Craig Tannery. To ensure consistency of each pair of reins we make sure that each individual rein stays with its mate from the time of cutting until the time they are finished. All of our reins range from 7ft to 8ft in length and come in Heavy or Extra Heavy leather. We have 2 main finishes available either Slicked or Natural. Slicked reins are rubbed with top coat made especially for JR Wenger's then ran thru a slicking machine which smoothes all four sides of the rein. The Natural reins are made using the best grades of harness. They are cut and then edged to perfection. These reins are very soft and except oils very well. We also have a Cooked finish. These reins are generally made in the summer time. They are literally cooked in a combination of oils, and waxes then hung to dry in the summer heat.
